AmeriSpec History

AmeriSpec was incorporated in 1987 in Orange County, CA, and began offering home inspection franchises in 1988. Since its inception, AmeriSpec has conducted in excess of 1.5 million inspections. In 1996, AmeriSpec joined The ServiceMaster Company as a wholly-owned subsidiary of American Home Shield, the oldest and largest provider of home warranty contracts.

According to Bond's Franchise Guide, there are approximately 2,069 franchise companies offering opportunities in the US and an additional 306 in Canada for a total of 2,375 companies offering franchises to potential entrepreneurs. Given the numbers, how can a potential franchisee evaluate the options? It's simple: narrow the field to include established and well-recognized companies with a proven history of success.

In Entrepreneur Magazine's 2009 Franchise 500 rankings, AmeriSpec achieved the #144 rank overall. Additionally in 2007, AmeriSpec ranked #38 in the Top 101 Home-based Franchises category, #38 in the Top Low-Cost Franchises category. Also in 2009 - AmeriSpec was selected #19 as top 20 Franchises to start by Forbes Magazine.
